Software Test Engineer

Act-On is looking for experienced Quality / Test engineers to work with our software engineering team on our core products and services in our fast-growing SaaS business. Our engineering team is agile and fast — and with our QA team in Beaverton Oregon you will work alongside our engineers in our highly collaborative environment.

You will be responsible for test case development; test execution; test result reporting along with defect investigation, bug report creation, progression and verification of fixes and test automation in our evolving agile environment.

The ideal candidate

  • Is passionate about testing - especially for dynamic Web-2.0 & cloud based applications.
  • Maintains strong test discipline and best practice within a flexible agile development environment.
  • Is passionate about working closely with software engineers at a peer level and can effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Strives to understand the customer perspective and develop customer-driven test strategies.
  • Has that that 'keep picking at it' quality that shows she/he has "the tester gene" - willing to go beyond a surface test case to root out root causes.
  • Can't resist the lure of test automation and has some chops to back it up.

The ideal candidate has the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a software engineering related field and at least 2 years software testing experience or at least five years of experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience testing web applications on multiple Browsers, ideally in a SAAS environment.
  • Experience writing and executing test plans and all other associated test deliverables.
  • Familiarity with some or all of the technologies we use: Linux, Tomcat, Java, JavaScript and JSON.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with open source test automation tools would be a huge plus.

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for selling the ActOn platform to the Fortune 5,000,000, leveraging a consultative, solution sales approach. Act-On is a SaaS Platform (Software as a Service) that allows organizations to increase their marketing success by tracking and scoring leads, integrating with CRM solutions like Salesforce.com and online meeting solutions like WebEx, and making it easy for our customers to implement a multichannel marketing approach. As part of the team, you will call on Director and VP level marketing and sales professionals and demonstrate the application via the web. NO TRAVEL REQUIRED! Additional responsibilities include territory planning, accurately forecasting opportunities using Salesforce.com, and maintaining a pipeline of activity to achieve sales quota.

Required Duties and Responsibilities

  • Effectively and independently distill and deliver the Act-On value proposition, demonstrating Act-On's product platform.
  • Develop a sustained pipeline of accounts by actively prospecting via cold-calls, marketing lead follow-up, personal relationships, Act-On executive introductions, and marketing automation introductions to independently close contracts at a close frequency and value to meet or exceed productivity and quota expectations.
  • Follow the established Act-On sales process, and consistently and regularly use Salesforce.com to provide timely and accurate forecasting and reporting of activity to Sales Management.
  • Develop, write, and deliver value-based sales proposals and respond to client RFPs
  • Appropriately engage Act-On management and staff in the sales cycle in addition to providing ongoing feedback to other areas of the organization.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of four (4) years successful sales track record in meeting or exceeding assigned individual quota of around $1M annually.
  • Strongly prefer previous experience selling Software as a Service (SAAS) technologies in a related industry.
  • Solution sales experience a big plus.
  • Strong ability to learn new technology and ramp quickly.
  • Experience selling software products and solutions to marketing and sales professionals strongly preferred.

Description
The primary goal of the Sales Development Representative (SDR) is to increase the qualified pipeline of new opportunities of the Act-On platform for the Fortune 5,000,000. Act-On is a SaaS platform (Software as a Service) that allows organizations to increase their marketing success by tracking and scoring leads, integrating with CRM solutions like Salesforce.com and online meeting solutions like WebEx, making it easy for our customers to implement a multichannel marketing approach. The SDR should be a self-starter with a track record of successful, credible lead follow-up and sales development experience at multiple executive levels within an organization.

Required Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilize a consistent contact attempt process via phone, email and chat to follow-up, nurture, and qualify leads generated by marketing campaigns. The SDR will make an average of 100 outbound calls a day.
  • Prospect, educate and qualify leads to create sales-ready opportunities. The SDR will be expected to schedule an average of 5 demos a day for Account Managers.
  • Keep abreast of the industry and technologies to ensure you are a trusted resource to prospects and customers.
  • Successfully manage and overcome prospect objections.
  • Follow the established Act-On pre-sales process and consistently use Salesforce.com to document prospect interaction ensuring efficient lead management.
  • Work closely with Account Managers to develop and conduct proactive outbound calling strategies to penetrate target accounts.
  • Develop and maintain territory and daily plans to maximize phone time, including pre-call planning, adhering to territory hours and metrics, and customizing scripts to market segments and prospect type.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience as a successful Lead Qualification/Sales Development Rep preferred.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation space a plus.
  • Strong ability to learn new technology and ramp quickly.

Technical/Product Support Engineer
Location: Roseville, CA

Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Become an Act-On expert including the product’s technical workings and practical business application.
  • Take ownership with delivering and exceeding customer service level agreement commitments and customer expectations.
  • Assist customers with technical questions relating to Act-On and peripheral software (including but not limited to internet browsers, Salesforce.com, Website hosting software, API’s, etc.).
  • Assist our Customer Success Team with technical implementations/Questions related to Act-On.
  • Utilize creative problem solving skills to assist in technical troubleshooting and analysis for customer reported issues.
  • Manage and maintain incoming support tickets and phone calls from customers from receipt through resolution.
  • Maintain a positive interactive working relationship with Product Management and Product Engineering to resolve issues and escalate as necessary for resolution.
  • Communicate customer needs to Product Management for future product enhancements.
  • Author and maintain knowledge base articles as needed for technical implementation procedures.
  • Contribute to the Act-On Communities and Public Forum.

Required Technical Experience

  • 1-2 years of experience in a technical support role.
  • Ability to write and troubleshoot HTML, JavaScript, and CSS a plus.
  • Understanding of the use and configuration of major Internet browsers.
  • Understanding of desktop OS systems (Windows and Mac).
  • Basic network (latency, etc.) troubleshooting experience.
  • Previous experience with API’s and XML a plus.
  • Additional preferred experience with Salesforce.com, Sugar CRM, Microsoft Dynamics, Marketing Automation, website hosting, email delivery and SEO.
  • Previous SaaS support experience a plus.

Customer Success Manager
Location: Roseville, CA

Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Become an Act-On product expert including the product's technical workings and practical business application.
  • Manage a portfolio of customers and assure their success with the software. Develop strong relationships with customers to protect ongoing revenue stream and identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
  • Receive new customers and manage them through the implementation process to successfully adopt the Act-On service.
  • Ensure customers are successfully using the software by working with them to understand their business objectives and recommend strategies to achieve those goals.
  • Ability to quickly understand, assess, and address customers' challenges and effectively work towards resolution.
  • Drive regular account reviews with customers and provide strategies to optimize return.
  • Work closely with internal departments such as Sales and Customer Support to provide services required to meet customer expectations.
  • May be utilized for troubleshooting and analysis of customer reported issues.
  • Maintain a positive interactive working relationship with Product Management and Product Engineering to resolve issues and to communicate customer needs for future product enhancements.
  • Contribute to Act-On Communities and Public Forums.

Required Experience

  • 1-2 years of customer facing account management type role or equivalent with a track record of service excellence.
